A very bright lunar crater, the centre of a conspicuous ray system. It is 45 kilometres (28 miles) across and has multiple terracing on the inner walls. Temporary reddish glows have occasionally been reported, perhaps caused by gas being released from the surface rocks. See also: transient lunar phenomenon. |
